– There were 39 new listings entering the market this month.

The show features a simultaneous music broadcast that can be heard on local stations KRLT-FM 93.9 and KOWL-AM 1490. Approximately 8:30 PM.

Labor Day Weekend Fireworks Show at Edgewood Tahoe – Plan to enjoy an amazing Labor Day buffet and watch the fireworks show front and center from the beach and decks at Edgewood Tahoe’s clubhouse. Sunday, August 31st at 6pm. This is an exclusive event with limited tickets available.

Sample the Sierra Festival, a Farm to Fork event celebrating the Sierra Nevada Region – Annual “Sample the Sierra,” a farm-to-fork festival celebrating the best food, wine, and art in the Sierra Nevada. Look forward to sampling award winning wines from the Sierra foothills including wines from returning vintners such as David Girard Vineyards, Shadow Ranch Winery, and Crystal Basin Cellars. Peruse booths with unique handmade products including jewelry, alpaca apparel, herbs, spices and gourmet chocolates. Enjoy live entertainment including music, storytellers and cooking demonstrations. Best locations to watch the fireworks:

•    Nevada Beach: Located about two miles east of the Nevada casinos on Elk Point Road, Nevada Beach is the ideal setting for a family barbecue at the beach. A wide, sandy shoreline leads down to the sapphire waters of Lake Tahoe. Charcoal barbecues and picnic tables dot the beach. The view of the fireworks display is one of the best in town.

•    Tahoe Queen and M.S. Dixie II: The view from the lake is probably the most spectacular. The Tahoe Queen and M.S. Dixie II: South Shore’s two Mississippi paddlewheelers offer a unique opportunity to view the light show from the water. Both feature live entertainment and fantastic views of the evening’s display.

•    Timber Cove Marina: Offering front row seating that fills up fast.

•    Bijou Community Park: Set back from the shoreline and boasts a skate park, disc golf course, dog park, golf course, and playground to keep the whole family entertained while holding your ideal viewing spot

•    The Tallac Historic Site: Off Emerald Bay Road, has an east-view perspective with nearby Baldwin Beach. For the more adventurous, the top of Mount Tallac offers a bird’s eye view of the fireworks extravaganza, but don’t forget your headlamp for the trek back down.

•    Lakeview Commons/El Dorado Beach:  Corner of Hwy 50 and Lakeview Ave.

4th of July 2014 Fireworks in South Lake Tahoe

 

All along Lake Tahoe on the 4th of July some of the best firework displays on the west coast will shoot into the night sky. Along with the lights, the community is encouraged to come to picnic on the beach to meet new faces and hang with old friends alike.

Holiday weekend visitors can expect the fireworks show to explode into unusual and whimsical shapes such as Fireworksjellyfish, stars, butterflies, and smiley faces around 9:45 p.m.  “Lights on the Lake” is sponsored by the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority. The fireworks are launched from offshore barges and can be seen from all corners of town. South Shore offers convenient access to viewing areas via public transportation, paved bike trails,  and nearby park and walk venues.

The fireworks are visible from all over town. Below are some of the sweet spots to get a front row seat.

  • The Tahoe Queen and M.S. Dixie II: South Shore’s two Mississippi paddle wheelers offer a unique opportunity to view the light show from the water. Board the Tahoe Queen for a Dinner Dance Cruise or the M.S. Dixie II for a Fireworks Cruise. Both feature live entertainment and fantastic views of the evening’s display. This setting offers front-and-center viewing of Lights on the Lake from Edgewood’s private beach and an all-you-can-eat buffet. Watch the fireworks show front and center from the beach to the south of Edgewood Tahoe’s clubhouse. Edgewood will be offering only a limited amount of tickets to the event.

The number of South Lake Tahoe, CA Homes for Sale that sold was 44 in January 2014 vs. 39 in December 2013 and 41 that sold January 2013.
There are 91 South Lake Tahoe, CA Homes for Sale that are in contract which represents 31% of the overall available inventory of 297 homes.
A few highlights of the current South Lake Tahoe, CA Homes for Sale are shown below.

This Month’s Most Expensive

South Lake Tahoe Real Estate for Sale and Sold Report, November 2013
Here is the Monthly Real Estate Market Update for the Month of November, year of 2013 for the area of South Lake Tahoe, California. As of November 30th we had a total of 254 Residential Properties in the Market, including single family and condos, with an average price of $518,441.

 

In that same group (Residential Properties including single family and condos), we had a total of 34 new listings entering the market in the month of November. The average price for new listings this month was $460,335, with an average price per square feet of $281.

 

From 254 listings, 70 listings were pending escrow and 47 of them went into escrow in the month of November,8 of them were short sales and 3 were foreclosures. The average price for the 47 homes that went into escrow this month was $407,069, with an average price per square feet of $257 and they were an average of 155 days on the market.

 

In November, 49 Homes were SOLD. The average sales price for the homes that were sold this month was $420,686 with an average price per square feet of $235 and an average of 131 days on the market.

Light up South Lake Tahoe Holiday Event 2013

 

Mark your calendars for this years 2nd Annual “Light up South Lake Tahoe” which will be held on Saturday, December 7th, 2013 at 6:00 pm.

You can’t miss this beautiful holiday event where business along the Highway 50 will have decorated their store fronts and will be turning on their lights as the South Lake Tahoe Fire Department’s fire truck and Street’s Department snow plow trucks lead the procession from Stateline to the “Y.” The trucks leading the parade will also be decorated with festive holiday lights.

If you want to participate you can decorate your vehicle and follow along behind the procession. Or you can just show up to watch the beautiful parade. The festivities will conclude at the “Y” with the annual tree lighting, a special visit from Santa and hot cocoa & cookies.

SnowGlobe Music Festival 2013 in South Lake Tahoe, CA

 

The SnowGlobe Music Festival offers a unique concert experience by combining music and mountains to create an Snowglobe 2013unstoppable force of fun this New Year’s Eve. The vibrant and unique landscape of South Lake Tahoe is the perfect setting for the adventure-driven festival. With almost 9,000 acres of skiing and snowboarding terrain, festival goers can hit the slopes by day and shows by night; and with the festival grounds located just three miles from Stateline, NV, gamers can take advantage of the five 24-hour casinos that Tahoe has to offer.

 

In 2013, Tiesto, Kaskade, Snoop Dogg (aka Snoop Lion), Zeds Dead, Beats Antique, Gramatik and more will ring in the New Year at the SnowGlobe Music Festival in South Lake Tahoe, California. The three-day event is set to take place on the campus of Lake Tahoe Community College December 29-31.

 

In addition to the music, SnowGlobe will also feature dynamic fireworks displays, live “big air” snowboarding and skiing demos between main stage sets, 10,000 square feet of heated space and more. There will also be plenty of nearby skiing and snowboarding terrain and reduced-price Heavenly Mountain lift tickets. Patrons will also be able to take advantage of the five 24-hour casinos in nearby Stateline, NV.
