The Tall Timber Ball At Valhalla

This Friday take a trip to a place only written about with the Tall Timber Ball.  This event kicks off the Tahoe Word Wave Festival.  Participants are encouraged to dress in steampunk garb and will have a chance to enter a costume contest with great prizes.  The event opens up with a Champagne Reception hosted by Galadrielle Allman, writer of “Please Be With Me: A Song For My Father Duane Allman” and winner of the best book of 2014 Award by Amazon.  The Reception is followed by a Dance Party in the pines where they will hold the costume contest and have appetizers with beer and wine.  The Timber Ball proceeds go toward fostering creativity in the Lake Tahoe Area by providing writing workshops for kids and funding new art projects around the area.

South Lake Tahoe Food and Wine Festival

I hope none of you have been skipping the gym this month because we have one more food and wine festival for the month of October.  The SLTFW takes place at Harrahs and Harveys Casinos all weekend long!  They feature events like a Sake Tasting, Parties at Peek Nightclub, and much more.  Tickets to each event are sold individually so it’s a great chance to treat yourself to some of your favorite dishes while taking in the rest South Lake Tahoe has to offer.

Let us know what you did last weekend, and if you have an event you would like to see featured mention it in the comments below.  I hope you all have fun and get the most out of your time off!
