If you haven’t already, you need to see Lost Mountain Band at one of their shows this weekend. The band consists of five members: Lindsay Cheek, Joel O’Connor, Derek Zalewski, Lowell Wilson, and Tom Parodi. Each member is incredibly talented and together they form one of the best musical acts in Lake Tahoe. Lindsay has a beautiful voice full of soul that would make Janice Joplin’s jaw drop. Lost Mountain Band plays a comprehensive array of rock music ranging from Blues to Funk to Soul to Folk and Country.
They have a passionate energy that flows from each band member that artfully brings across the best that rock has to offer. I’ve had the good fortune to see them play at both Lakeside Casino and McP’s Pub. My favorite cover by them was the song Seven Nation Army by the White Stripes. Joel and Lindsay killed it with vocals and the whole band rocked the house!
If you love classic rock they do a bunch of songs that will take you back to the time when you first heard these songs and fell in love with music. The venue’s are great as well with weekly shows on Fridays at McP’s Taphouse and Saturday shows at the Tahoe local’s favorite casino, Lakeside Inn. Both of these locations have great drink specials and food to make for a good friendly and fun atmosphere.
I highly recommend making it out this weekend to treat yourself to some great music with a unique soulful flavor by Lost Mountain Band. I will definitely be going to see them at McP’s Taphouse on Friday. If you are on the fence at all about going to hear them perform, I invite you to hear their rendition of “Come Together” by the Beatles.
