El Dorado County residents who live Lake Tahoe’s south shore can throw away electronics, furniture, mattresses, appliances, tires and other large trash items. Nevada residents can also participate and pay $10 a truckload.

Furniture, tires and appliances can be dropped off at South Tahoe Refuse Transfer Station for a discounted price of $5 per truckload. There will also be free secure document shredding and free e-waste disposal.

Refrigerators can be dropped off for only $15 each (normally $36.80). Computers monitors and TV’s are free (normally $26.35).

“Community Clean up Day plays an important role in preserving our beautiful landscape here at Lake Tahoe,” said Ellen Nunes, program manager, Clean Tahoe Program.

Clean Tahoe Program is making it easy for senior citizens and residents with disabilities to clean their property too!  If residents over 65 years of age or anyone with a disability needs assistance removing items, Clean Tahoe Program volunteers will come pick them up at your home!  Just call 530-544-4210 to arrange for a pick up this Saturday June 4.
